Freedom Air is part of the Air New Zealand Group and is a low-cost carrier committed to providing New Zealanders with really, really cheap airfares and great flight ticket discounts for their domestic air travels. If you need another reason to take a break over winter, Freedom Air provides you with enough reasons and makes it easier too.
Freedom Air operates services with cheap airfares and discounted air tickets to Melbourne from Hamilton, Palmerston North and Dunedin. The two services per week are available on a seasonal basis during the summer period that is between late October to late March, when New Zealanders traditionally head across the ditch to visit friends and relatives or seek guaranteed warmer weather. This is also the peak time for Kiwis living in Australia to travel home to be with friends and family. The low cost airline reviewed all routes in late 2005 and withdrew the Melbourne services, which were consistently performing below expectations to come up with the best cheap, airfare solutions for passengers. Freedom Air’s one-way, internet-only, cheap and discounted airfares mostly include taxes and surcharges so you don’t have to be afraid of hidden charges. The airline has been advertising a fully inclusive pricing structure for its advertised airfares. Freedom Air already advertises inclusively in Australia and will now include Government and Airport charges in all its cheap airfares advertised in New Zealand and Fiji. An inclusive pricing means people will know exactly what a flight to Australia or Fiji will cost up front. Freedom Air believes that winter is an ideal time to plan a holiday especially during the Christmas holidays. With the country’s winter falling right in the middle of the year, it’s a great time to plan a trip. Not only does it give you something to look forward to but it will relax and refresh you for the second half of the year. In addition, Freedom Air has dropped its prices to Auckland, ex- Brisbane and ex-Gold Coast. The airline is also making it just as easy for Aucklanders to visit Queensland with equally cheap and discounted airfares from Auckland to Brisbane and the Gold Coast. The cheap ‘winter break’ airfares are just the latest in a number of pricing initiatives from Freedom Air this month which reinforces its position as price leader in the highly competitive trans Tasman market. The airline also has a special airfare for its ‘take a mate’ (two for the price of one) promotion and a Valentine’s Day special for all Australian ports. Freedom Air hand luggage allowance has not been affected by the recent changes some other airlines have had to make around cabin baggage allowances because of recent world events. Because Freedom Air flies to Australia and Fiji and does not fly to America or the United Kingdom, the airline’s flights are not affected. Passengers can be assured that even with the really cheap airfares; the normal baggage allowance of 7 kg per person still applies. Freedom passengers are not required to pack minimal personal or medical items or place these in a clear plastic bag when traveling.
They’re bigger, softer, provide more leg room and best of all – Freedom Air’s new Suite Seats are now on sale! Customers can now purchase Freedom’s super-sized seats for travel. In keeping with Freedom’s uncomplicated fare structure, the cost of the added leg room and comfort during trans-Tasman or Pacific travel is $100 per person, per sector, on top of the original cheap airfare price. A further 142 seats with the usual 30” pitch will still be available on all flights. The bigger seating option is all about providing more space and comfort for those passengers who like really, cheap and discounted airfares but would prefer a bit more room on-board.
It maybe a little more space to work off their laptop, stretch their legs or just relax. Passengers can now benefit from the same space and comfort enjoyed by passengers in business class. A second seating option has also been introduced for those passengers who may not want extra room but may have a preference about where they sit in the aircraft. For an additional $5 per sector, passengers can book under Seat Select and choose their specific aisle and seat for their journey. Freedom Airlines will continue to provide dirt cheap airfares for its customers so that passengers can decide which on-board extras they want to pay for. Freedom is also committed to maintaining its cheap and discounted airfares by providing customers with the flexibility to make decisions on their seating and in-flight options.
