If I told you that an airline exists that makes flying an adventure worth looking forward to, would you believe me? An airline that serves mouth-watering food at 30,000 feet above sea level, with flight crews who know and enjoy their jobs so well; planes very clean and well maintained; airborne services done with professionalism and broad smiles; in-flight entertainment and amenity kits so superb. Many may think that I am actually dreaming especially since I am up there in the clouds. Well, I will simply tell them that it is a dream coming true when I’m flying with Singapore Airlines. It is said that “great things come in little packages.” This aptly describes the pleasure of flying with Singapore’s national carrier – Singapore International Airlines.
Singapore Airlines, if not the world’s best, is certainly one of the worlds finest with world class air services at cheap air ticket prices. The airline operates air services that conform to global best practices that are first among the lot and the best among the rest. Prices are often cheaper than most competing airlines offer. Over the last two decades, Singapore Airlines has grown from a regional airline into one of the world's leading passenger and cargo carriers. Today, the Singapore fleet is the most modern of any of the world's major airlines. The airline’s base is at Changi International Airport which is regularly voted the world's best with its cheap and duty free shopping facilities; it serves as the gateway to Asia and beyond. Singapore Airlines fly to 59 destinations in Asia, Europe, and North America. In the whole of South East Asia, Singapore International Airline runs one of the largest hub operations in the region at Singapore’s Changi International Airport. Its regional subsidiary, Silkair, provides cheap airfares for flights to cities in Southeast Asia, China, and India. Singapore Airlines’ subsidiary, Tiger Airways marked Singapore Airlines' entry into the world of low cost and discount airline operations. The city-state of Singapore is renowned worldwide as a thriving, dynamic centre for commerce and industry, Singapore's ‘gateway’ location, excellent facilities, cleanliness, fascinating sceneries, cultural tolerance and tourist attractions draw an ever increasing number of visitors. It is a place of many interesting sights, from historic ethnic areas like Little India and China Town to tourist attractions like multi-million dollar Sentosa Integrated Resort, the Zoological Gardens, Jurong Bird Park, the Empress Place and Raffles Hotel.
Buying your cheap flight tickets on Singapore Air can be done through its website, a travel agent, over the phone, through auction or consolidator websites. Depending on your destination, Singapore offers e-tickets and requires you to print out your confirmation email and bring it to the airport with you if you book your cheap air ticket online.
Because Singapore is a member of the Star Alliance, connecting from other alliance members to Singapore is easy. From the records, Singapore Airlines will be the first to fly the A380 Super Jumbo Aircraft currently under construction by France’s aircraft manufacturers - Airbus. Singapore airlines fly both Boeing and Airbus’s long and medium haul aircraft. The airlines’ jets depend on the model of plane flying and also the route it is being flown on. Singapore generally offers three classes of flight services except on extra long hauls where they offer economy, premium economy, and business. Singapore Airlines allows First Class and Raffles Class customers to make specific seat requests at the time of booking for all flights except those between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. Economy class customers can request a specific seat for tickets purchased online on all flights except those between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. One of the highlights of Singapore Airline’s service is the in-flight entertainment system offered behind every seat in every class of service. With one of the best systems in the sky, you have hundreds of movies, television shows, and music on-demand. In addition, there are city guides, “learn a language” features, and the traditional route map and flight information. An in-flight magazine is also available. Food service on Singapore Airlines has always been done with great attention to detail and quality, even in Economy class. Upon boarding you’re presented with a menu featuring that week’s selections. Singapore Airlines offers a unique service called “Book the Cook” where you can pre-select your meals before you fly for business and first class. When you get on the plane they’ll re-confirm your choice before serving you. In economy class, you can also pre-select meals when booking your trip. Wine, beer, and spirits are complimentary on Singapore flights in all classes of service. If I am given ten choices of airlines to fly, I will choose to fly all ten on Singapore Airlines to keep reliving the wonderful experiences of what air travel should really be like. I am sure you would too, but just be a little careful otherwise they will spoil you.
